About Therapeutic Training

Therapeutic Training is a combination of Orthopedic and Neurological Assessments, and Manual Therapy. While every client or athlete will undergo assessments at the start, in order to develop your training program, we revisit assessments throughout your training, should you need to get back to zero

Orthopedic and Neurological Assessments allow us to determine how your body’s hardware (muscles, bones, soft tissue) and software (nervous system) are working. It helps us build a more complete picture of how you are moving, and whether your muscles are engaging correctly so that they’ll be turned on and available to you when you need them.

Assessments include testing for normal ranges of motion and proper muscle engagement, so we can differentiate between a strength issue, a motor-control issue, or an underlying issue in which we need to work with our network of physicians or health practitioners.

Oftentimes we have clients coming in with injuries or limited by pain – they’re “stuck.” Therapeutic Training will get you unstuck.

Applied Neurology for Therapeutics

We largely leverage Z-Health, an applied neurology-informed training system, as the scientific foundation for our methodology at JBodyworks. Z-health overall is used to ensure good neural drive, which is the signal that the brain sends to the muscles to control them. By repatterning neurologically, your muscles are there when you need them to perform.

We might work on your balance system (visual and vestibular), integrating vision and inner ears to ensure that everything is “wired” in the right way; we might do proprioception training, where we’re testing and training your brain’s ability to talk to your body; we might evaluate your foot and gait mechanics, adjusting to improve mobility or balance; we might do Manual Therapy.
